Patrick Horst,
DPT, PT, CIDN

Owner

Patrick is a Vinton native who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Clarke University in 2017. Since then, he has worked with a wide range of patients and diagnoses, developing a well-rounded, individualized approach to care.

Patrick is passionate about equipping his patients with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed—not just during treatment, but in everyday life. His clinical focus is supported by advanced certifications that allow him to tailor care to each patient's unique needs.

He holds certifications in:

Ergonomic Assessment Specialist
LSVT BIG (Parkinson’s-specific therapy)
ImPACT (Concussion Management)
Dry Needling (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3)

Outside the clinic, Patrick brings his passion for health and performance into the community. Since the 2024–2025 school year, he has served as the head cross country coach for Vinton-Shellsburg High School.

Chief Executive Officer

Kristine grew up in Cedar Rapids and attended the University of Northern Iowa for her undergraduate studies. She earned her MBA with a specialization in Data Analytics from Colorado State University in 2020. Since 2015, Kristine has worked in healthcare, gaining in-depth knowledge of medical insurance and administrative operations. Her goal is to help patients feel confident navigating their insurance benefits and ensure a smooth, informed experience from start to finish

Our work brought us together in 2017. In late 2020, we saw an opportunity to better serve our local community and founded Horst Physical Therapy. What began as a shared vision quickly grew into a patient-centered clinic rooted in trust, compassion, and evidence-based care. Since opening our doors, we've been committed to providing personalized, hands-on treatment that empowers individuals to move confidently, recover fully, and live healthier lives. As a locally owned practice, we value the relationships we build and take pride in being an active part of the community we call home.

Physical Therapy Assistant

Sierra Higgins, PTA

Sierra graduated from Kirkwood Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program in 2009 and brings over 16 years of clinical experience to her role. She has had the privilege of working in a variety of settings including hospital-based care, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities (nursing homes and assisted living), and home health. These experiences have allowed her to expand her skills and deepen her understanding of patient-centered therapy.

Sierra has been a valued member of the Horst Physical Therapy team since April 2022, where she continues to provide compassionate and knowledgeable care to her patients every day. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and staying active in her community.

Physical Therapy Assistant

Brandt Corcran, PTA

Brandt is a Vinton native who graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in 2012, earned his degree from the University of Iowa in 2016, and completed the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Kirkwood Community College in 2018. He began his career at Virginia Gay Hospital, gaining valuable experience in patient care before joining Horst Physical Therapy in April 2025. Brandt enjoys treating a wide variety of patients, with a special interest in sports medicine-related injuries and rehabilitation.

Outside of work, Brandt enjoys life in Vinton with his wife and their four children. He is also the Head Girls Wrestling Coach at Vinton-Shellsburg High School, a role he has held since 2021 that combines his passion for sports and mentoring young athletes.
